Let’s Set an Example of Professionalism and Respect

Dear Los Angeles and San Diego Flight Attendants:

Thank you to every member who participated in this election, whether you supported us or another candidate. Democracy inside our union only works because people care enough to vote, debate, and hold their leaders accountable. That participation makes our council stronger.

I’ve seen a lot of emotion online in the past few days. That’s understandable; we all care deeply about our work and our future. But we are not each other’s opponents or enemies. The real challenges we face come from companies that continue to profit from our labor while resisting fair pay, humane schedules, and safe working conditions. Our fight is and always will be with corporate power, not with one another.

As we move forward:

We listen. Every voice matters, including those who disagree.

We stay transparent. Decisions will be communicated clearly and promptly.

We stay present. You will see us in the crew rooms, on the line, and in the social media groups and pages where we belong.

We stay united. When we show solidarity, we win.

Let’s set an example of professionalism and respect that reminds everyone what unity looks like. Together, we can turn debate into direction, and frustration into progress.

In Solidarity,

Kimberly Burckhalter
