Starting this week, U.S. President Joe Biden announced that Americans can now order free at-home rapid COVID-19 tests through a new government website created by his Administration and the United States Postal Service (USPS).
This website rollout is part of a larger effort by the Biden administration to increase access to testing, including more over-the-counter tests at pharmacies and in-person testing at local health centers. President Biden also announced that his administration will make available 400 million N95 masks for free at pharmacies and community health centers across the country.
Residential households in the U.S. can order one (1) set of 4 (4) free at-home tests from USPS.com.
Here’s what you need to know about your order:
- Limit of one (1) order per residential address
- One order includes four (4) individual rapid antigen COVID-19 tests
- Orders will ship free starting in late January
- Order Now: https://www.COVIDtests.gov/
According to the website, orders will usually ship in seven (7) to twelve (12) days and the website recommends that people take an at-home test if they start to have symptoms of COVID-19, including fever, sore throat, or runny nose.
It also recommends testing at least five days after coming into close contact with someone who has COVID-19 or before a gathering, especially with people who are at risk of severe disease or who aren’t vaccinated.
